LDNIO SC3604 Power Strip 3 Universal Socket

Bought this LDNIO SC3604 (A brand from China) power extension for my home office setup.

First thoughts - USB ports (6 available)

The number of available USB ports are useful, it's handy and has saved a lot of my time looking for charger around the house/office, but this doesn't mean the power output (max 3.4A) is suitable for your device.

Stock charger come with regulated feature that restrict certain amount of power which fit exactly what your device need. Sticking back to your charger is always a good idea to keep your device lifespan longer, the output current and voltage is sensitive to electronic device.

This SC3604 extension doesn't come with a smart sensor that detect whether if your battery is fully charged, so it's not a good idea to leave your device fully charged and keep it overcharged for too long. 

I like the idea of having USB port always available for extra device, and it can supply up to 5V/3.4A or lower (divided by number of connect devices).

The Size and Spaces

SC3604 is light, the body is made of plastic. From the picture, it's obvious that you don't need to worry about plug with different socket format you'll be using. In addition, plugging in 2 pins plug is no longer a hassle, nothing is blocking you inserting 2 pins (non-earthed) plug into the socket.

Apart from the handy features, let's discuss about the safety use of the product. Extension with USB port always give me the impression of unsafe product, not to mention wall plug socket with USB-based product, so be warned and use them with caution!

How to use them with caution?
I only know a few, but it's not scientifically proven though, they are just more like a common sesnse. The prime idea of using thing safely is "simply not to stress them".

1. Don't overload your extension (one wall socket is mean for only one extension)
2. Never add another extension to another additional extension (Unless you have measured and you are sure how much current your devices are drawing from your power point and it won't add extra pressure on the internal wiring inside the wall)
3. Don't leave your devices plugged switched on unattended for prolonged time
4. Whenever you are not using the connected power plug, unplug it!
5. If you feel unusual heat emit from your device/battery, it may be an early warning sign of bad use of power.

Final thought, with the price tag of RM30 (promo price from shopee.my) and the features it offers, it's a really good deal if you can get lower than RM30, but as mentioned above, this product is in the top unsafe list, bear in mind the advice and don't stress/overload your home wiring.
